Woolworths!!! Mecca of both useful and useless shopping. Wooden floors. Kid heaven. An expansive niche between the local grocery and hardware stores. (Before Walmart used the 5 and dime model to absorb all niches, crushing both local economies and decent wages - my opinion.)
