Donald Trump's war on media is 'biggest threat to democracy' says Navy SEAL who brought down Osama Bin Laden

The Navy SEAL, now retired Admiral, who planned and oversaw the operation to get bin Laden is acutely aware of history. He's the president of University of Texas Austin, here speaking to journalism students. "William H McRaven, who was commander of the secretive Joint Special Operations Command, was delegated responsibility for the dangerous mission targeting the al-Qaeda leader by the CIA in 2011." And my point exactly: "Senator John McCain, who served in the US military before moving into politics, has also criticised Mr Trump's stance on the media as dangerous. In an interview on NBC News, he said attacking the press is “how dictators get started.” - Independent EXACT!! 😖 “In other words, [it is] a consolidation of power,” Mr McCain told Meet the Press host Chuck Todd. “When you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press. And I’m not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I’m just saying we need to learn the lessons of history.” And also on point. Trump has no idea. Thanks Jeanna Funkhouser for the story. Had to find the source myself, there was no link in the Real Politics article.
